Frequently Asked Questions
Q1.Does A Drink for Tomorrow only fund projects in a specific country or region?
Answer: A Drink for Tomorrow does not exclusively fund certain regions. However, most of the funds will be directed towards Africa, Latin America and Asia, as these areas are most affected by the water crisis.
We will determine the projects we fund based on incoming applications to Peer Water Exchange, the organization we are working with to select projects to fund and manage, monitor and evaluate those projects.
Peer Water Exchange has partnering businesses in regions around the world that we could potentially work with.
Check out the partner organizations we may fund at http://www.peerwater.org/map/index.
Q2.Does A Drink for Tomorrow implement clean water projects or just fundraise for clean water projects?
Answer:We focus our efforts in fundraising. Since we do not have the technical expertise to implement projects but have some ideas we think could raise a lot of money for the cause, we feel we can contribute more by solely fundraising.
Luckily for us, Peer Water Exchange exists to select, monitor, manage, and evaluate projects to save funders that time and overhead.
Q3.Why fund clean water projects when there are so many causes out there?
Answer:Clean water is the most basic human right and human need, yet over one billion people lack clean water. We cannot expect to ever live in a poverty-free world if every person doesn't first have his or her most basic needs met. Providing clean water to a community is the first step in lifting that community out of poverty.
Spread of disease and the high incidence of mortality will decrease and school attendance will increase. Women can spend more time engaging in economic activity instead of spending hours each day to hike to get water.
Lives will be saved, and many will have a chance at a future they would not have had without access to clean water.
Q4.Where is your organization based?
Answer: A Drink for Tomorrow is based in Moorestown, NJ.
Q5.What is the legal status of your organization (are donations tax-exempt)?
Answer: A Drink for Tomorrow is incorporated as a non-profit in the state of New Jersey, and registered with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs Charitable Registration Section. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Q6.Do you only partner with businesses in New Jersey?
Answer: To date we have partnered with businesses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We plan to start locally and expand outward.
We hope to expand promotions in the South Jersey area and also engage businesses Philadelphia; however, we are open to partnerships in any state.
Q7.What do you mean by "clean water projects" or "clean water systems"?
Answer: By clean water projects or clean water systems, we are referring to various means of providing clean water through construction of devices such as wells, bore holes, rope pumps, hand pumps, rain water harvesting, dug wells, and more.
What these all have in common is that they ensure the provision of clean water to a community over a long period of time.

Q8.What do you mean by "sustainable" access to clean water?
Answer: When we refer to "sustainable" clean water projects, we mean that we intend to fund projects that will bring clean water to a community for many years if not an entire lifetime.
We support projects that involve the community in the construction of the well (or other project) and train community members to be able to maintain the well, replace its parts with local materials, and keep it in good working condition for years to come.
Q9.Why did you start a non-profit at the age of 23?
Answer: This question is addressed in the Bio section, but basically I thought "why wait?" The problem exists now, and I have an idea that might be able to make a positive impact.
I might have more resources in ten or twenty years, but I hope that right now I have enough energy and passion to get others excited and move the organization forward.
